Dung Full Panda, The Happening, and Indiana Who.....!!!
I saw Kung Fu Panda and The Happening yesterday at the cinema, and Indiana's movie last week, in all I was disappointed from these films, they had the elements to flick but they failed to flicker, could it be after watching great films like There Will Be Blood, Iron Man, and The Bucket List, such puny movies fail in comparison.....?!
Kung Fu Panda was great in terms of animation, and fight scenes, the scenes were amazing, the story is something else, and Jack Black is... well, is Jack Black, don't get me wrong I like him alot, the thing is I want him to search for a new role, and not hide behind the shadow of the late Chris Farley.....!!!
that was the first thing that came through my mind when I saw the movie; this is a Chris Farley movie, to be specific: Beverly Hills Ninja....!!!
I liked these characters that made me really smile Randall Duk Kim (will be playing the role of Grandpa Gohan in Dragonball next year) as Master Oogwai, and James Hong as Mr. Ping Po's father.. some of the slapstick humor from Jack gets to you from now and then.....!!!
it's watchable, it's funny, but it's too childish to my taste......!!!
The Happening, I was afraid M. Night wouldn't budge from his filmamking signia (the Predictable Unpredictability) but I was wrong, he wrote a story you heard of before, and he gave you the reasons from the beginning and he gave you all the clues where this movie is going, it was good, I liked the movie more than the rest, but he lacked so many things, the movie in no way can be related to The Sixth Sense, nor Signs or Unbreakable, this is lower than Lady In The Water in terms of story building......!!!
the acting was bad, the dialogue was just as bad, Wahlberg sounded like a naked puppy in a sauna, and the lamest character was his wife(in film) Zooey Deschanel, there were some decent acting led by John Leguizamo and Spencer Breslin (The Kid)......!!!
so what happened to the horror in M. Night films.....?!
nothing much cept he replaced it by graphic death scenes, which alone lifted the movie meter abit and gave me an idea how to manly end my life......!!!
the characters in general were 2 dimensional if lucky, the girl was a filler in the movie, and the romantic crap at the end almost convinced me to ask back the 5jds I payed for the ticket.....!!!
even after saying all of that, this movie was nothing in comparison to Speilberg's shit Indiana Hermit Jones: Rise of The Shia Louboff.....!!! the Tintin director gave us his worst movie ever, the amount of CGI and green screen sets made me feel like watching Speed Racer.....!!!
I really tryed hard to watch it with open mind, I didn't like the previous Indy films, but now, Raiders of the lost Ark is good in my book. Cate Blanchett was top notch, Shia was better than Ford. the story was a mistake, Indy was old and bairly walking, he wasn't convincing me that Indiana was able to do these stunts, the chase scenes had no relation to the story, again the CGI was annoyingly unfinished, the sword fights on top of the cars was a good idea, but what we saw was an abomination! I can give you a list on the stupid things in the movie more than what I think of our MPs.....!!!
the ants, the magnet box, the first chase, the water falls, the Spanish tomp fight scene with the weird locals, the fridge and the atomic crap bomb, the Superman Returns/Star Wars "he's your son!/Luke.. I am your Father" cheesy scene, the E.T./Close Encounter of the 3rd Kind tribute, teenage parenthood, the quicksand/snake escape, and hundreds more don't close to the Alien farce in the end of the movie.....!!!

Gulf Films Week kicks off.....!!!
during Al-Arabi Magazine celebrations for it's 50th anniversary, Kuwait Cinema Club and Cinescape invites you to a week of Gulf films, this might be your only oppertunity to watch the first Omani film "Al-Boom", or the Amazing Saudi documentary "Cinema 500 km" , there will be also screenings to some of the best Gulf shorts, along with the Kuwaiti films "Sharq" and Habeeb Husain's "Symphonic Poem"......!!!
the week starts today (Feb. 3rd) with the Bahraini film "A Bahraini Tale"(حكاية بحرينية) by Bassam Al-Thawadi and starring Saad Abdulla and Fatima Abdulrahim... the film will start at 7pm in Al-Sha'ab Cinema.
then tomorrow (Feb. 4th), there gonna be the Symposium Gulf Cinema: Reality & Challanges at 11am in J.W. Marriott, and at the same day a conference will be held for the Masoud Amr Allah the head of Dubai and Gulf Film Festivals at 5:30pm in Al-Sha'ab Cinema, after that Saudi films will be screened at 7pm in Al-Sha'ab Cinema... "Shadowless Women"(نساء بلا ظل), "Child of the Sky"(طفلة السماء), and the much anticipated "Cinema 500 km" which was written and directed by Abdullah Al-Eyaf. The film talks about movie fanatic's first trip to a cinema......!!!
and on Teusday (Feb. 5th), we start at 2pm in Al-Sha'ab Cinema with Kuwaiti short films like "Sharq", "Khalid's Beutiful Mind", "Sabir on The Sea", "When The Angel Leave", and our own Animation "Kuwaituna", there might be a screening for Miqdad Al-Qout's "Paradoxes".... and at 7pm Short films from Qatar and UAE will be screened, "Al-Jassasia"(الجساسية), "Huboob"(هبوب), "Al-Ghabnah"(الغبنة), "Blaze Birds" (عصافير القيظ), "Stuck Face" (وجه عالق), "Sperits" (ارواح), "On Road" (على طريق), "Silence Mirrors" (مرايا الصمت), and "Return of The Maha" (عودة المها).
The next day wednesday (Feb. 6th), Kuwaiti shorts will also be screened from 2pm in Al-Sha'ab Cinema before the screening of the first Omani feature film "Al-Boom" by Khaled Abdul Raheem Al-Zadjali at 7pm, which is based on my favourite classic "Waiting For Godot" (I played the role of Vladimir).......!!!
The last day Thursday (Feb. 7th) at 7pm in the National Museum of Kuwait will feature Habeeb Husain's much anticipated "Symphonic Poem" (قصيد سيمفوني) which is on the great Kuwaiti musician Sulaiman Al Deikan, I saw some clips in the post production and it is a remarcable work that you shouldn't miss......!!!

Lego Pride......!!!
50th Lego b-day.....!!!
I had fun with Lego in my childhood, until we found the cheaper replica, after that I began the destruction phase, I broke every brick, chewed the plastic heads and hands, and made pornographic attempts with the Lego people.....!!!
I used to pee on the pirate ship.......!!!
I burned the space shuttle.....!!!
I even picked my nose with Lego hands......!!!
Lego taught me alot, peeing on things will make them smelly, peeing on Lego will make them smellier, and watching some one else playing with urine coated Lego is only funny until he realises the smell and goweyness......!!!
and you'll get a beaten for peeing on things, peeing on your cousin's pirate ship will get you grounded, having your other cousin to pee with you on his big brother's pirate ship will lead him to being beaten up, and you too......!!!
burning the space shuttle will make it smelly and fill the room with smoke, that will mean being grounded, and you won't have face to ask for a new one, getting burned for the sake of realism is not worth it......!!!
picking up your noes and collecting snot by Lego hands is funny until you bleed, also snot is not food, and eating it by grown up's standards is disgusting......!!!

EXzombie The Taxi Driver......!!!
yeah it's true, for a limited time, I will be driving one of the annoying Taxi caps, around the city, picking up strangers and such, taking them everywhere, if you want a ride, e-mail me or call me......!!!
this is not a fluke, and I'm not broke, well not to the bone, but I will be working with fellow Kuwaiti Filmmakers (Filmers Club) in a joint production of our latest movie that has the temporary title "Taxican", I'll be the Driver, Nawaf Boarki will be the taxi owner who will accompany me through out the film, two other Kuwaiti filmmakers will join us; Miq& Moos's Miqdad Al-Koot (Paradoxes, Khalid's Beautiful Mind) and the lead in "Khalid's Beautiful Mind" and Dawood Shuail's "The Warrior" Musaed Al-Adwani will appear as the Joker and Mr.Sheep......!!!
Musaed is a good actor, and performed well in the difficult role of Khalid, I like the impressions he uses, and as Miq& Moos, they really know how to imitate people around them, and notice trademark ways to show a character (they told me mine was the hehehehe laugh which is just like the way I write it.....!!!), this is a sign, and I think they will go far if they keep up the good work, Miq's film "Paradoxes" is also good, it was original and creative, even tough it was Lynch-ic, I liked the film, and the idea of making people irritated is OK with me.....!!!
my youngest brother Soud who was in "Joker's Revenge" will also be in the movie as Jahrawi& Panda with a friend of his......!!!
one of my favourite actors in Kuwait will be joining us also in the film, Nizar Al-Qandi (SaL3AWI, Bug& Baldy Show) will also join us, and I really am looking to work with him, I always wanted to work with him and Salah Al-Bawi, I don't know why, but they seem to be the catalyst to any decent work lately.....!!!
Al-Ma'sab brothers will also join us, so already I'm hyped about it.....!!!
we will start shooting tomorrow, so if you want to watch us filming, or want to join us, just send me an e-mail, or contact me, my numbers are available in facebook, and in the events label.....!!!

The Mist
No Spoilers in this post......!!!
I was fortunate today to watch 4 amazing films, I'm bit fed up and don't have anything to do so as soon as I returned from ASU I watched The Mist..
this is by far one of the best adaptations to Stephen King, this year is a good year for him with 1408 and The Mist hitting the right buttens.....!!!
I think the his short stories are amazing, he can't fail and twist them enough to ruin them....!!!
Frank Darabont did an amazing job in transferring the short story into the thriller.
I liked it soo much, and the characters were portrayed in a way either you cheer for them or wait for them to die......!!!
I cheered for Olli (Toby Jones) every time he did something on screen, he was the typical wuss who became the hero of the day, nothing he did was wrong......!!!
Thomas Jane was also fantastic and I think he established himself as the next "Ash".....!!!
an aspect I liked was the debate represented in the movie of how civilized humans can be when we replace Low and Order with Fear and Chaos.....!!!
a down side though is the CGI, not satisfying enough, and a bit damped......!!!

3arayes & Joker's Revenge on KTV....!!!
the first episode of Youth Cinema (3 parts) is to be shown this Sunday, I don't know when exactly but there is a promotional trailer on the TV (I don't have a satellite connection and I don't watch TV), with rerun on Monday.....!!!
you'll get to see Kuwaiti Filmmakers, and some of their films, if I'm not mistaken you'll get to see in the first episode some of our films : Kuwaituna, Joker's revenge, and maybe Flight Night.
in the next episode 3arayes will be shown.
Youth Cinema is Directed by none other than Habeeb Husain, so you'll get a glimpse of why I love this guy's work......!!!

تاريخ السينما في الكويت
في الثلاثينات من القرن الأخير في الألفية الثانية , بدأ الكويتيون في السفر والترحال الى عدد من الدول العربية للدراسة والتجارة وهناك استطاعوا مشاهدة الأفلام في دور السينما سواء كانت أجنبية مستوردة أو أفلاماً عربية منتجة في تلك الدول .وكان الناس في الكويت , وخاصة الموسرين يقومون بعرض أفلام روائية عربية وأجنبية مقاس 16 مم في منازلهم علي آلات عرض خاصة بهم . ويذكر أن اول آلة عرض سينمائي دخلت الكويت عام *1936 .
وقد استمرت هذه العادة لدي الكثيرين حتي بعد أن اقيمت دور العرض في الكويت . ومن أشهر الجهات التي كانت تؤجر هذه الأفلام (16 مم ) والتي استمرت حتي منتصف السبعينات : أحمد شهاب الوهيب ,وأفلام الشميس , وأفلام شريدة , وبدر الطخيم , وأفلام السراج ,وأفلام الأحلام , وأفلام ساغر . استمر عرض هذه الأفلام في المنازل حتي بعد تأسيس دور العرض لأن البعض كان يعتبرها نوع من الوجاهة وأيضاً لأنه كان يعطي فرصة للنساء لمشاهدة الأفلام في المنازل دون الذهاب إلي دور العرض , حيث أنه لم يكن مسموحا لهن بالذهاب إلي السينما آنذاك.
وكان فيلم "أبناء السندباد" الذي قام بتصويره وإخراجه الرحالة الاسترالي الأصل آلان فيليرز , عام 1939 هو أول فيلم تسجيلي يصور في الكويت عن الغوص وصيد اللؤلؤ وبعض ملامح البيئة الاجتماعية في الكويت, وهو يصور رحلة قام بها الرحالة من ميناء عدن إلي الكويت , مرورا بسواحل الجزيرة العربية الجنوبية وساحل افريقيا الشرقي حتي وصل إلي زنجبار ثم عاد من هناك إلي الخليج العربي حتي الكويت . بتصوير فيلم و يتضمن هذا الفيلم إلي جانب الرحلة بعض مظاهر الحياة في أواخر الثلاثينات . ويعتبر المادة السينمائية الوحيدة عن الكويت القديمة , وتلاه محمد قبازرد بالفيلم التسجيلي ( الكويت بين الأمس واليوم ) . هذا بالإضافة إلي عدة أفلام 16 مم التي قام بتصويرها بعض الهواة لمعالم الكويت القديمة .
وفي عام 1946 قامت شركة نفط الكويت بتصوير فيلم تسجيلي بعنوان "النفط في الكويت" يظهر فيه أمير الكويت المغفور له أحمد الجابر الصباح وهو يعطي إشارة لتصدير أول شحنة نفط إلي الخارج . علي الصعيد الحكومي , بدأت النشاطات السينمائية بوزارة التربية حيث أسس فيها عام 1950 قسم السينما. وكانت وزارة التربية - تدعي آنذاك "دائرة المعارف" - هي أفضل القنوات المتاحة لتوصيل المعلومات المرئية لأكثر شرائح المجتمع قدرة علي الاستيعاب والتطبيق , وهي شريحة الطلاب . وقد تمكنت من انتاج 60 فيلماً وثائقياً تعليمياً عن التعليم والصحة وغيرهما من أمور تتعلق بالحياة في الكويت . كان ذلك في فترة لم يكن المجتمع الكويتي قد عرف التلفزيون بعد . أما الوزارة الثانية التي أفسحت الطريق أمام الإنتاج السينمائي فهي وزارة الشئون الإجتماعية و العمل عام 1959 . وفي عام 1961 أخذت وزارة الإرشاد والأنباء (وزارة الإعلام حالياً) علي عاتقها مسؤلية العمل السينمائي . وفي عام 1964 انتقل قسم السينما إلي تلفزيون الكويت , وقد قام هذا القسم بإنتاج أغلب الأعمال السينمائية الرائدة في الكويت , علي الرغم من إمكاناته المحدودة . وقد انتقل هذا القسم إلي مجمع الإعلام الجديد عام 1981 , وجهزت معامله بأحدث الأجهزة ومعدات الطبع والتحميض والتصوير والصوت . وكانت الطاقة الإنتاجية لهذه المعدات راوح بين عشرين إلي ثلاثين فيلما سينمائيا طويلا بمقاس 35 مم و16 مم سنويا .
أما بالنسبة لإنشاء دور العرض ففي عام 1954 تأسست شركة السينما الكويتية التي أخذت على عاتقها إنشاء دور العرض واستيراد الأفلام . فلقد أنشأت "سينما الشرقية" كأول دار للسينما في الكويت . ثم أنشأت بعد ذلك العديد من دور العرض ,ويبلغ عددها حاليا ستة عشر دارا للعرض .وهى تحتكر أيضا حق العرض التجارى الجماهيرى لجميع الأفلام الروائية الطويلة فى الكويت , ومعظم الأفلام هى عربية وأمريكية وهندية .
وفي عام 1965 قدم محمد السنعوسي فيلم (العاصفة) وفي العام ذاته قدم خالد الصديق فيلم (الصقر) ثم مجموعة من الأفلام التسجيلية الأخرى .وعلي الرغم من أهمية الأفلام التسجيلية والوثائقية والدرامية القصيرة التي تحول تنفيذها إلي الفيديو فقد جري العرف علي قياس تاريخ السينما في دول العالم بالأفلام الروائية الطويلة . من هنا يمكن أن نعتبر فيلم " بس يا بحر" عام 1971 , نقطة تحول في تاريخ السينما الكويتية والخليجية والذي حقق نجاحات عربية ودولية عديدة .
واعتمد "بس يا بحر" علي قدرات فنية وتمثيلية كويتية بحتة *** . وبما أنهم جميعا لم يكن قد سبق لهم خوض تجربة التمثيل للسينما , فقد أدي هذا إلي إعادة التصوير أكثر من المعدل الطبيعي مما تسبب في مضاعفة عبء الإنتاج , وبما أن العاملين في الفيلم كانوا موظفين في القطاع الحكومي فلقد أدي هذا إلي تأخير التصوير . إضافة إلي ذلك واجهت الفيلم مشكلة عدم وجود الديكورات ومواقع التصوير الأصلية , والقصور البالغ في المعدات والأجهزة خاصة تلك التي تستخدم في التصوير تحت الماء . إذ ان جزءا كبيرا من المشاهد صور تحت الماء .
أما الفيلم الروائي الطويل الثاني فهو الفيلم الكويتى المشترك "عرس الزين" إخراج وإنتاج خالد الصديق 1976 , وهو يعتمد علي قصة من البيئة السودانية للكاتب السوداني الطيب صالح . ويمكن الإشارة الى العديد من الأسماء التي ساهمت في تشكيل الواقع السينمائي في الكويت مثل هاشم محمد الذي قدم فيلم (الصمت) و (الفنون) و (غوص الردة) و (غوص عدان ) وبدر المضف الذي أنجز العديد من الأفلام التسجيلية منها ( مشروع منطقة الشعيبة الصناعية ) وعبد الرحمن المسلم (الفخ) و (الفجر الحزين ) وعبد الله المحيلان (مذكرات بحار) و (إرتريا وطني ) وعبد الوهاب السلطان (سد مأرب) و (نهر الأردن) ونجم عبد الكريم (النداهة) ونادرة السلطان (السدو) وعامر الزهير (القرار) ويمكن الإشارة أيضاً الى محاولات حبيب حسين وابراهيم قبازدو عبد المحسن الخلفان عبد العزيز الحداد وعبد المحسن حيات وماهر حجي وعبد الله المخيال ووليد العوض وقد تنوعت نتاجات الأسماء الأخيرة ما بين الروائي القصير والتسجيلي كما مزجت بعض المحاولات ما بين تقنية السينما وتقنية الفيديو.
وفي عام 1995 تم انتاج فيلم "شاهين" مقاس 35 مم , ألوان , سينما سكوب من إخراج وإنتاج خالد الصديق . ويحكي الفيلم قصة عاطفية تقع احداثها علي خط التحرير خلال رحلة القوافل التجارية من شبه الجزيرة . وهي أول تجربة كويتية تقتبس فيها قصة قصيرة من الأدب العالمي للشاشة الكبيرة . وهو يمثل أيضا أول إنتاج عالمي مشترك من نوعه في منطقة الخليج بين الكويت والهند وايطاليا . وحتي هذه اللحظة لم يظهر الفيلم إلي الوجود بسبب فقدان بعض بكرات الفيلم . كل هذه المحاولات في مجال إنتاج الأفلام الروائية الطويلة كانت محاولات فردية خاصة وبإمكانات شخصية متواضعة . أما رأس المال الكويتي الخاص فهو بعيد تماماً عن الاستثمار في الأفلام الكويتية علي رغم أن بعض الجهات الأهلية حاولت استثمار أموالها لتمويل بعض الأفلام الأجنبية .
ومن خصوصية السينما الكويتية أن معظم الأفلام التي أنجزت في الكويت تتصل بالواقع الكويتي اتصالا مباشرا وأهم هذه الموضوعات هو الحياة الكويتية قبل النفط , وكأنما نذرت السينما الكويتية نفسها للحفاظ علي صور ومظاهر انتهت في الواقع , ولكنها تحيا فى ذاكرة مخرجيها ومصوريها.والموضوع الآخر الذي فرض نفسه علي السينما الكويتية وهو لا ينفصل عن الأول هو صراع القديم والحديث في المجتمع الكويتي الذي نال التغير جميع نواحيه بعد ظهور النفط .

يضاف ان في عام 2004 تم إنتاج فيلمان كويتيان بالألوان وهما ((شباب كول)) للمؤلف حمد بدر وإخراج محمد دحام وفيلم ((منتصف ليل)) للمخرج عبدالله السلمان عرضا في دور السينما الكويتيه وتلاهما تصوير فيلم ((جسوم أي شي)) للمخرج سامي الشريدة منعت رقابة وزارة الإعلام عرضه في الكويت ,, يذكر أن تلك الأفلام لم تصور بكاميرات سينمائيه فقد تم تصويرها بكاميرات تلفزيونيه (ديجيتال - بيتاكام) وبعد المونتاج تم تحويها إلى بكرات سينمائيه ,, فتلك الأفلام لا تعتبر أفلام سينمائية في صناعتها كونها لم تصور سينمائيا وقد شبهها بعض النقاد بالسهرات التلفزيونيه، مما يجعلنا ننتظر ولادة أول فيلم روائي سينمائي ملون بالكويت
.وفي عام 2005 تم إنتاج أول فيلم سينمائي قصير من أفلام الخيال العلمي "كما تخيلت تماما**" للمخرج الكويتي زياد الحسيني ويمتد الفيلم لعشر دقائق فقط، تم تصويره خارج الكويت بفريق عمل أجنبي وممثلين أجانب بدعم من شركة الإتصالات المتنقله .. وكون مدته لا تتعدى ال10 دقائق تم عرضه قبل بداية الأفلام في دور العرض السينمائية بالكويتيه تشجيعا له

في عام 2006 عرض الفلم الكويتي "فقدان احمد" للمخرج عبدالله بوشهري في عدة مهرجانات و محافل سينمائية و قد حصل على العديد من الجوائز و المراكز المتقدمة، كما حصل المخرج القدير حبيب حسين على الجائزة الذهبية من مهرجان النيل الدولي لأفلام البيئة عن فلمه "المحميات.. الملاذ الأخير" المتميز في الافلام الوثائقية الفنية. و يمكن القول بأن مستقبل السينما الكويتية يبشر بالخير بعد ان شاركت في مهرجان افلام الهواة الكويتيين في اواخر يونيو الماضي و الذي عرض فيه اكثر من 27 فلم لمخرجين كويتيين هواة تابعهم حضور كثيف، و قد لاقت الافلام صدى جيدا و يعول على هذه الطاقات الشبابية في خلق طفرة انتاجية للأفلام الكويتية مستقبلا

إن أول آلة عرض سينمائى دخلت إلى الكويت، كانت فى سنة 1936، عندما أحضرها السيد عزت جعفر للشيخ أحمد الجابر. وقد وضعت هذه الآلة فى قصر دسمان. ومع انتشار هذه الآلات، قامت بعض الأُسر الكويتية الثرية، بإحضار بعضها من أجل عرض الأفلام، وذلك بتسليط الصورة على جدار المنزل المطلى باللون الأبيض (الجبس). وكانت الحفلة الأولى خاصة بالنساء، والحفلة الثانية خاصة بالرجال.
وفى 5/10/1954 تشكلت فى الكويت أول شركة للسينما، تحت اسم (شركة السينما الوطنية الكويتية)، بموجب مرسوم أميرى صدر بهذا التاريخ. وكان مشروع الشركة الأول، هو إنشاء سينما الشرقية عام 1955 كأول سينما فى الكويت. وكان مقرها فى الحى الشرقى لمدينة الكويت قريباً من قصر دسمان خلف قصر الغانم.

أما بخصوص فيلم (بس يا بحر)، فأضع هنا مادة توثيقية خاصة به منقولة بنصها – دون تصحيح لغوي – من بحث بعنوان (عبد الرحمن الصالح .. مسيرة ورؤى) من إعداد مجموعة من طالبات جامعة الإمارات.
وتقول المادة إن فيلم بس يا بحر الذي يعتبر من الأعمال الرائدة التي قدمها عبدالرحمن الصالح (الإماراتي)، الذي كتب القصة، والسيناريو والحوار بالتعاون مع الفنان خالد الصديق الذي أنتج الفيلم، وأخرجه. فهذا الفيلم كان في الأصل عبارة عن مسلسل إذاعي، من تأليف عبد الرحمن الصالح، ثم تم إخراجه على شكل فيلم سينمائي فيما بعد، وذلك عندما قرر خالد الصديق أن يخوض غمار السينما. وفي البداية كان هناك خلاف بين خالد الصديق وبين عبد الرحمن الصالح، فتوسط عبد الرحمن عبدالهادي وحل الخلاف بينهما. ثم طلب خالد الصديق من عبدالرحمن الصالح أن يعرض عليه ما لديه من أعمال، فاختار خالد الصديق نص بس يا بحر الذي كان عبارة عن نص إذاعي تم تقديمه في الإذاعة. وفي البداية تردد عبدالرحمن الصالح أمام خوض غمار الكتابة السينمائية لكن خالد الصديق شجعه، ووعده بالتعاون معه، وساعده على المضي قدماً في التجربة. بعد ذلك بدأ العمل في الفيلم، وبدأ عبدالرحمن الصالح بإعادة الصياغة، والكتابة، وبدأ بالفعل تصوير الفيلم، وكان من ضمن الذين شاركوا في عمل الفيلم السيناريست المصري ولا ء الدين.
وبعد تصوير ثلثي الفيلم شعر عبد الرحمن الصالح بالخوف من هذه التجربة مع الظروف الصعبة المحيطة بتصوير الفيلم من الانتقال من مكان لآخر، وتصوير المشاهد، فقرر السفر إلى القاهرة. وفي القاهرة كان هناك أصدقاؤه منصور المنصور، وعبدالهادي، فاتصل خالد الصديق (الذي كان يبحث عن عبدالرحمن الصالح إلى أن اكتشف أنه سافر إلى مصر، وأنه معهم) بهم حتى يقنعونه بأن يكمل الفيلم، فقاموا بإقناعه بإكمال الفيلم، ومنعوه من الخروج من الشقة التي كانوا يسكنون فيها، ومن رؤية مصر حتى يكمل النص، وبالفعل أكمل النص وأرسله إلى خالد الصديق في الكويت وتم إتمام العمل. وقصة فيلم بس يا بحر تتناول الجانب التسجيلي، والتوثيقي لمرحلة معينة من تاريخ الكويت، ومنطقة الخليج العربي بصفة عامة؛ حيث يوثق لبعض المعتقدات الخرافية التي كانت سائدة عند أهل الخليج مثل: توب توب يا بحر، وأربعة أشهر والخامس دخل، ويا بحر يبهم آلخ... كما أنه يوثق لمعتقدات من الخرافات الموروثة موجودة حتى في الأمم الأخرى مثل: "حكاية القطة" التي تعبر عن معتقد يعمل الناس على إثره إذا استبطئوا عودة الصيادين، أو أهل البحر سواء في السفر، أو الغوص على الإتيان بقطة ثم الذهاب بها للبحر ثم كيها بسعفة، ثم يقومون بتغطيسها في البحر، فلما تغطس تصيح ميو ميو فهم يفسرونها يو يو أي أتو أتو.. كذلك من ضمن المعتقدات في قضية هبوب الريح ينتظرون ريح الشمال تهب لتساعدهم على العودة. هذه الجوانب أعطاها عبدالرحمن الصالح شيء من الأولوية في العمل بالإضافة إلى العادات. وقد نجح فيلم بس يا بحر عالمياً، واستقبل بحفاوة كبيرة في أوربا والبلاد العربية، وحصل على خمس جوائز عالمية تقريباً.. في تقدير عبدالرحمن الصالح، ورأيه الذي قاله أكثر من مرة أن بس يا بحر حصل ما حصل عليه من جوائز، وتقدير، واهتمام ليس لأن صناعة الكويت من الناحية السينمائية كانت متقدمة؛ وأنما لأنه أبهر الناس بما قدمه من السلوكيات و العادات، والتقاليد الاجتماعية التي تشتهر بها منطقة لم يكن يعرفها لا الوطن العربي، ولا حتى أوربا، وبالتالي كان شيئاً ملفتاً للنظر، ومبهراً بالنسبة لهم، وهذا ترك انطباع قوي زكى الفيلم في كثير من المهرجانات، وجعله يحصل على جوائز.

OFFICIAL COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
1. General: The Gulf Film Festival (GFF) is a non-profit cultural event that takes place annually in April in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Festival will feature two main competitions.
The First, a competition dedicated to films from the Gulf region - United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Kingdom of Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Republic of Iraq and Republic of Yemen. Second, a script competition for Emirati short films. GFF also features international cinema from all over the world but it has two overriding objectives:
Objective 1: GFF aims to develop the local and regional film culture in the Gulf, creating greater opportunities for filmmakers from the Gulf to screen their films and develop future film projects.
Objective 2: GFF aims to celebrate excellence in Gulf cinema and be a destination festival to which the international film community can travel in order to discover state of the art Gulf cinema.
2. Dates: The 1st edition of GFF will be held from April 9 to 15, 2008.
3. Official Competition: The 2008 GFF will introduce a competition for feature films, short films and documentary films. Films in the 3 categories that meet the following criteria are eligible for entry in competition and may be chosen for inclusion in the Official Selection of the GFF Competition:
* The film must meet one of the following conditions:
- Directed by a Gulf national (passport-holder of the above mentioned countries).
- Has a subject and storyline that is centered around the Gulf region and/or Gulf history or culture.
* The film should not have been screened in the UAE before, except Dubai International Film Festival and Ibda'a Media Student Awards.
* The film must be produced after January 1, 2006.
* The film must be submitted to GFF before February 7, 2008.
* The film should not have been shown previously on any television channel or streamed via the internet to any public audience.
* All non-English films must have English subtitles to be presented for the selection jury. The Selection Committee will require the submitted copies of all non-English language films to contain English subtitles.
* The submitted work must NOT be a television programme or an episode of a series.
4. Competition Categories:
Feature Films
In order to be selected as a Feature Film, your submission must be a work of fiction that is 60 minutes or longer in duration. The competition will only be held if a minimum of 5 films are selected, otherwise, the films will be screened as “Out of Competition”.
Short Films
In order to be selected as a Short Film, your submission must be a work of fiction, experimental, or animation, that is does not exceed 59 minutes in duration length.
Documentary Films
In order to be selected as a Documentary, your submission must be a work of non-fiction, regardless of the duration.
Script Competition for Emirati Short Films
In order to participate in this category, please refer to the rules and regulations of the Script Competition for Emirati Short Films.
5. Awards: GFF will present a number of prizes in the Official Competition, and the Students Competition in each of the above-mentioned three categories.
GFF will also award a Special Jury Prize in the Official Competition and Students Competition.
A GFF Certificate and cash prize will be awarded to the director of each winning film.

6. GFF Submission Form: In order to submit a film for consideration in the GFF Competition, a submission form must be completed online in both Arabic and English. The deadline for receipt of the completed and signed GFF Submission Form for the GFF Competition is February 7, 2008. In order for a film to be considered for the Festival, GFF must receive all the documentation and supporting materials as stipulated on the GFF Submission Form, including the copy of the film. Any and all material received after the deadline will not be accepted.
7. GFF Selection Committee: GFF will appoint a distinguished committee to review submitted films, and decide on official selections to enter the 3 categories of the GFF Competition.
8. GFF Jury: GFF will also appoint a jury from the international and Arab film communities to decide on prize winners for each of the categories in the GFF Competition. The jury will be comprised of 5 members for the film competition, and 3 members for the script competition.
9. Screening & Archive Copies: You must submit two copies of your film to the Festival. The first copy, which will be used for screening during the Festival, can be in any one of the following formats: 35mm, Digital Betacam PAL, Betacam SP PAL, Mini DV, and DV Cam. The second copy must be in a DVD format as it will be stored in the Festival’s archives.
10. Number of Screenings: If your film is selected for the Festival, GFF Management retains the right to screen it to its public audiences up to three times. The film may be screened in advance of the festival an additional (fourth) time for accredited press and industry members.
11. Hosting:
For Emirati Filmmakers: Accommodation will be provided only to directors whose films are selected in the official competition, with the exception of Dubai residents.
For Gulf Filmmakers: An economy airline ticket and accommodation will be provided only to directors whose films are selected in the official competition.
12. Films Selected: All films selected for GFF will be at the discretion of the relevant GFF Selection Committee. The committee will decide on official selections to enter the 3 categories of the GFF Competition. It is GFF policy not to offer comments or reasons for films not selected for the GFF Competition. An official letter will be sent by email confirming the selection and advising the submitter of further requirements and next steps.
13. Films Not Selected: In case a film is not selected for the GFF Official Competition, the Festival’s Management has the right to select the film to be screened Out of Competition in the other sections of the festival.
14. Print Insurance: Prints of all films selected for the GFF will be insured throughout the period in which they are in the Festival's custody and shipping costs to and from GFF’s premises will be incurred by GFF’s management. GFF undertakes to return the prints within 30 days of the close of the Festival. In case of loss or damage during GFF, the Festival will be responsible only for the replacement value of the print. GFF assumes this obligation only in the event that the print was originally received by the Festival in good condition.
15. Editorial Changes: No editorial cuts or changes to any film will be made at any time by GFF Management for any reason or under any circumstances.
16. Anti-Piracy Precautions: GFF endeavours to take all possible anti-piracy precautions. All prints and associated copyrighted materials will be securely stored while on GFF premises. Access is limited to our nominated staff only and all movement of prints will be strictly monitored. No duplication or loaning is permitted and no prints will ever leave the custody and care of GFF or its authorised agents during the Festival.

Video Release of Film: All rights holders submitting a film to the GFF Competition agree that, in the event their film wins a prize at GFF, they will ensure that wording is placed on the DVD case which indicates that the film was part of the Official Selection of the Gulf Film Festival and indicating the prize it won.
20. Previous GFF Submissions: Films once submitted to GFF will not be considered for the future editions of GFF and cannot be resubmitted as entries in subsequent years.
21. Acceptance of these Regulations: Participation in GFF and signature of the GFF Submission Form implies acceptance of these Regulations. It is the responsibility of producers, distributors, or other authorised representatives submitting a film to ensure that they are lawfully entitled to enter a film in the GFF. Submission of a film and signature by the film’s authorised representative of the GFF Submission Form signifies full agreement with, and consent to, these Regulations.
22. Festival Management’s Discretion: GFF Management will decide in its discretion on all issues and matters not foreseen by these Regulations. GFF Management further retains the right to permit exceptions to the application of these Regulations at any time in its discretion.

21. Acceptance of these Regulations: Participation in GFF and signature of the GFF Submission Form implies acceptance of these Regulations. It is the responsibility of producers, distributors, or other authorised representatives submitting a film to ensure that they are lawfully entitled to enter a film in the GFF. Submission of a film and signature by the film’s authorised representative of the GFF Submission Form signifies full agreement with, and consent to, these Regulations.
22. Festival Management’s Discretion: GFF Management will decide in its discretion on all issues and matters not foreseen by these Regulations. GFF Management further retains the right to permit exceptions to the application of these Regulations at any time in its discretion.

القواعد واللوائح للأفلام المشاركة في المسابقة
1 . لوائح عامة: يُعتبر مهرجان الخليج السينمائي (والذي سيتم الإشارة إليه لاحقاً إختصاراً بكلمة "المهرجان") حدثاً ثقافياً لا يستهدف الربح، ويُقام هذا المهرجان بصفة سنوية في شهر أبريل من كل عام في إمارة دبي، دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. يُخص ِّص المهرجان مسابقة للأفلام الآتية من دول الخليج، وهي: (دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، المملكة العربية السعودية، دولة الكويت، مملكة البحرين، سلطنة عُمان، دولة قطر، جمهورية العراق، وجمهورية اليمن)، ومسابقة للسيناريو للأفلام الإماراتية القصيرة. كما يُعنَى المهرجان بتقديم الفن السينمائي واستعراض الأنشطة السينمائية من جميع أنحاء العالم، ولكن في نفس الوقت يسعى إلى تحقيق هدفين في غاية الأهمية:
الهدف الأول : تطوير وترسيخ الثقافة السينمائية المحلية، والخليجية، ومنح الفرص أمام المبدعين الخليجين لعرض أفلامهم، وتطوير مشاريعهم المستقبلية .
الهدف الثاني : الاحتفال والاحتفاء بالأعمال الإبداعية المتميزة على مستوى السينما الخليجية لتصبح محطّة يتجه إليها مجتمع السينما العالمي لاكتشاف السينما الخليجية ، وللاشتراك بفعاليات المهرجان، وللاحتكاك بمبدعي الحركة.
2. الموعد: تُقام الدورة الأولى من مهرجان الخليج السينمائي في الفترة من 9 إلى 15 أبريل 2008.
3 . شروط المسابقة الرسمية: يقدّم مهرجان الخليج السينمائي 2008 مسابقة للأفلام الروائية الطويلة، والقصيرة، والأفلام التسجيلية. على هذه الأفلام تحقيق الشروط أدناه للدخول في المسابقة الرسمية للمهرجان:
* أن يتوفّر في الفيلم المقدّم أحد الشروط التالية:
- أن يكون مخرج الفيلم من حاملي جواز سفر إحدى دول الخليج المذكورة أعلاه.
- أن يتناول الفيلم موضوعاً تدور حبكته حول منطقة الخليج العربي.
* ألاّ يكون الفيلم قد سبق عرضه في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة باستثناء مهرجان دبي السينمائي الدولي، ومسابقة "إبداع" لطلاب الإعلام.
* أن يكون تاريخ إنتاج الفيلم بعد 1 يناير 2006 .
* أن يتم تقديم الفيلم في موعد أقصاه 7 فبراير 2008 .
* ألاّ يكون الفيلم قد سبق عرضه على أية قناة تلفزيونية، أو عبر شبكات الإنترنت لجمهور عام.
* أن تتوفّر في الأفلام غير الناطقة باللغة الإنجليزية ترجمة إلى اللغة الإنجليزية، وذلك لاستعراضها من قِبل لجنة الاختيار.
* ألاّ يكون برنامجاً تلفزيونياً، أو حلقة منفصلة ضمن برنامج متسلسل.
4. أقسام المسابقة:
أ. الأفلام الروائية الطويلة
لاختيار الفيلم ضمن قسم الأفلام الروائية الطويلة، يجب أن يكون الفيلم عملاً روائياً لا تقل مدّته عن ( 59) دقيقة. تُقام المسابقة في حال اختيار ( 5) أفلام بحدٍ أدنى ضمن مسابقة المهرجان، وإلاّ سيتم عرض الأفلام "خارج المسابقة الرسمية".
ب. الأفلام القصيرة
لاختيار الفيلم ضمن قسم الأفلام القصيرة، يجب أن يكون الفيلم عملاً روائياً، أو تحريكياً، أو تجريبياً لا تزيد مدته عن ( 59) دقيقة.
ج. الأفلام التسجيلية
لاختيار الفيلم ضمن قسم الأفلام التسجيلية، يجب أن يكون الفيلم عملاً تسجيلياً بغض النظر عن مدّة الفيلم.
د. مسابقة السيناريو للأفلام الإماراتية القصيرة
للمشاركة في مسابقة السيناريو للأفلام الإماراتية القصيرة، يُرجى الاطّلاع على القوانين واللوائح التنظيمة الخاصة بالمسابقة.
5. الجوائز: ستقوم إدارة المهرجان بمنح جوائز للمسابقة الرسمية، ومسابقة الطلبة عن كل من الفئات التالية: الأفلام الروائية الطويلة، الأفلام التسجيلية، الأفلام القصيرة، بالإضافة إلى جائزة باسم لجنة التحكيم، على أن تذهب الجائزة المالية إلى مخرج الفيلم.
أ. جوائز المسابقة الرسمية :
الفيلم الطويل:
- الجائزة الأولى (50.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثانية (35.000) درهم.
الفيلم التسجيلي:
- الجائزة الأولى (25.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثانية (20.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثالثة (15.000) درهم.
الفيلم القصير:
- الجائزة الأولى (25.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثانية (20.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثالثة (15.000) درهم.
- جائزة لجنة التحكيم الخاصة (20.000) درهم.
ب. جوائز مسابقة الطلبة :
الفيلم التسجيلي:
- الجائزة الأولى (20.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثانية (15.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثالثة (10.000) درهم.
الفيلم القصير:
- الجائزة الأولى (20.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثانية (15.000) درهم.
- الجائزة الثالثة (10.000) درهم.
- جائزة لجنة التحكيم الخاصة (15.000) درهم.
ج. جوائز مسابقة السيناريو للأفلام الإماراتية القصيرة:
- الجائزة الأولى: (50.000) درهماً.
- الجائزة الثانية: (40.000) درهماً.
- الجائزة الثالثة: (30.000) درهماً.
د. شهادات التقدير: تُقدّم شهادات تقدير للمميّز من الأفلام، والعناصر المشاركة في الفيلم في أقسام المسابقة المختلفة.
6. استمارة الاشتراك : لأجل الاشتراك بفيلم في أقسام المهرجان، يجب تعبئة استمارة الاشتراك إلكترونياً باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية. الموعد النهائي لتلقي استمارة الاشتراك في المهرجان معبّأة بالكامل وموقّعة، ومصحوبة بكافة الوثائق والمواد الإضافية الواردة في استمارة الاشتراك، هو 7 فبراير 2007، ولن يتم قبول كافة المواد التي تَصل إلى المهرجان بعد هذا الموعد.
7. لجنة الاختيار: ستقوم إدارة المهرجان بتعيين لجنة مهمتها استعراض الأفلام المقدّمة للمهرجان، وتحديد واختيار الأفلام التي ستدخل رسمياً في أقسام المهرجان المختلفة.
8. لجنة تحكيم المهرجان: ستقوم إدارة المهرجان بتعيين لجنة تحكيم من المختصين في شؤون السينما والفنون البصرية من العالم العربي، أو المجتمع الدولي لتحديد الفائزين بالجوائز في كل قسم من أقسام المسابقة. تتألّف اللجنة من ( 5) أعضاء بالنسبة لمسابقة الأفلام ، و(3) أعضاء لمسابقة السيناريو.
9. نسخ الأرشيف والعرض: يجب إرسال نسختين من الفيلم: نسخة لأرشيف المهرجان على قرص (DVD )، ونسخة لعرض الفيلم في المهرجان بأحد الصيغ التالية: 35mm ، Digital Betacam PAL، أو Betacam SP PAL ، Mini DV ، DV Cam .
10. عدد مرّات العرض: في حال اختيار الفيلم للمهرجان؛ فإن إدارة المهرجان لها الحق في عرضه ثلاث مرّات للجمهور. وقد يتم عرض الفيلم مرّة إضافية (رابعة) قَبل بدء المهرجان للأعضاء المنتسبين للمهرجان، والصحافة.
11. الاستضافة: بالنسبة للإماراتيين: يتم توفير إقامة شاملة لكل مخرج يُقبل فيلمه في المسابقة الرسمية فقط، باستثناء قاطني إمارة دبي.
بالنسبة للخليجيين: يتم توفير تذكرة سفر على الدرجة السياحية، مع إقامة شاملة لكل مخرج يُقبل فيلمه في المسابقة الرسمية فقط.
12. الأفلام المختارة: كل الأفلام المختارة ستتم بمعرفة لجنة الاختيار التابعة للمهرجان. وتقتضي سياسة المهرجان عدم تقديم أية تعليقات، أو أسباب حول الأفلام التي يتم استبعادها من المسابقة الرسمية، أو من المهرجان. سيتم تأكيد الاختيار، وإعلام المشترك بالمتطلبات الأخرى، والخطوات التالية بواسطة البريد الإلكتروني.
13. الأفلام غير المختارة: في حال عدم اختيار الفيلم في المسابقة الرسمية، فلإدارة المهرجان الحق في اختيار الفيلم للعرض "خارج المسابقة الرسمية" ضمن أقسام المهرجان الأخرى.
14. التأمين على نسخ الأفلام: سيتم التأمين على النسخ لكل الأفلام التي يتم اختيارها خلال الفترة التي تكون فيها بعهدة المهرجان، وستتحمل إدارة المهرجان تكاليف شحنها من وإلى مقر المهرجان. كما تتعهد إدارة المهرجان بإعادة نسخ الأفلام خلال ( 30) يوماً من ختام المهرجان؛ وفي حالة وقوع أي تلف أو ضرر لنسخة الفيلم أثناء فترة المهرجان، ستكون إدارة المهرجان مسؤولة فقط عن دفع القيمة البديلة للنسخة، ولن تنفّذ هذا الالتزام إلا في حال كانت النسخة الأصلية التي وصلت للمهرجان في حالة جيدة.
15. الرقابة: لن يتعرّض أي فيلم إلى أي نوع من أنواع الحذف، أو التغيير، أو المونتاج بأي شكلٍ من قِبَل إدارة المهرجان، وتحت أي ظرف.
16. الاحتياطات المضادّة للقرصنة : تسعى إدارة المهرجان لاتخاذ كافة الاحتياطات الممكنة لمكافحة القرصنة، لذا ستوفر الحماية اللازمة لكل نسخ الأفلام، وللمواد الأخرى محفوظة الملكية أثناء وجودها بالمهرجان. سيكون حقّ الوصول إلى هذه المواد مقصوراً على أعضاء اللجان الذين تم اختيارهم من قِبل إدارة المهرجان فقط، وستخضع كافة تنقّلات الأفلام لمراقبة صارمة، ولن يُسمح بنسخ أو إعارة الأفلام، أو بمغادرتها حضانة ورعاية إدارة المهرجان، أو ممثليها المعتمدين أثناء فترة المهرجان.
17. الشحن: يجب إرسال نسخ الأفلام إلى العنوان التالي:

18. جدول عروض الأفلام: ستقوم إدارة المهرجان -حسب تقديرها- بتحديد تواريخ وترتيب عرض كل فيلم، وبمجرّد اختيار الفيلم للمسابقة، لا يحق له الانسحاب، أو العرض في أي مكان آخر داخل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة قبل عرضه في مهرجان الخليج السينمائي 2008.
19. نسخة الفيديو: يعطي مالكو حقوق الأفلام المشاركة في مسابقة المهرجان موافقتهم بأنه في حال فوز فيلمهم بجائزة في المهرجان، يتعيّن عليهم ضمان الإشارة إلى أن الفيلم قد تم اختياره ضمن المسابقة الرسمية لمهرجان الخليج السينمائي، مع ذكر الجائزة التي فاز بها على الغلاف الخارجي لقرص الـ DVD .
20. المشاركات السابقة في المهرجان: لن تنظر إدارة مهرجان الخليج السينمائي إلى الأفلام التي سبق وأن تقدّمت، أو اشتركت في المهرجان.

22. حرية التصرّف المكفولة لإدارة المهرجان: تتمتع إدارة المهرجان بحرية التصرّف في اتخاذ قرارات بشأن كافة القضايا والموضوعات التي لم تتناولها هذه اللوائح. كما تتمتع إدارة المهرجان بمطلق الحرية في القيام بعمل الاستثناءات اللازمة من هذه اللوائح المطبّقة في أي وقت كان، وبما يتراءى لها، وما يتطابق مع رؤيتها الخاصة.

18. جدول عروض الأفلام: ستقوم إدارة المهرجان -حسب تقديرها- بتحديد تواريخ وترتيب عرض كل فيلم، وبمجرّد اختيار الفيلم للمسابقة، لا يحق له الانسحاب، أو العرض في أي مكان آخر داخل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة قبل عرضه في مهرجان الخليج السينمائي 2008.
19. نسخة الفيديو: يعطي مالكو حقوق الأفلام المشاركة في مسابقة المهرجان موافقتهم بأنه في حال فوز فيلمهم بجائزة في المهرجان، يتعيّن عليهم ضمان الإشارة إلى أن الفيلم قد تم اختياره ضمن المسابقة الرسمية لمهرجان الخليج السينمائي، مع ذكر الجائزة التي فاز بها على الغلاف الخارجي لقرص الـ DVD .
20. المشاركات السابقة في المهرجان: لن تنظر إدارة مهرجان الخليج السينمائي إلى الأفلام التي سبق وأن تقدّمت، أو اشتركت في المهرجان.

EXzombie's August Films Recomendations......!!!
I know I'm 14 days late already, so sue me......!!!
this is a list of films that are going to be released starting from the 17th till the end of this month, I recommend them for every one even children and fags, and I hope that they'll choke from the terror......!!!
The Invasion
Nicole Kidman's latest movie reminds me of the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers, come to think of it, it's a remake......!!!
King of the Kong
not so sure if it'll reach ME cinemas, a documentary about two 80's gamers......!!!
Death at a Funeral
an English comedy that made me laugh my head off, expect everything to hit right where it tickles......!!!
War
this is for all the Jet Li fans out there, another face off with Jason Stathan.....!!!
looks good neh.....!!!
Halloween
Rob Zombie remakes Jason's slasher series, and it looks amazing.......!!!
frightful, and bloody, and Jason is wicked.........!!!
Balls of Fury
imagine Hardball, Kung Pow, and Kung Pow 2 .......!!!
Death Sentence
this movie I want to see the most, this is for all the Death Wish fans out there, the movie is based on the book with the same title, which is the direct sequel to Death wish that became a movie in 1974 and spawned the Bronson Death Wish series......!!!
and I don't know why, but I also present this film although it's release is in September......!!!

Saudi Arabia, Terrorists, American heroes, attack on Americans in the KSA, an FBI team goes there and end up being fucked up.......!!!

The event will take place on Tuesday, July 24th, at the Cinemagic Courtyard in Bait Lothan, Salmiya, and will run between 7:30 p.m – 9:30 p.m.
This week, we will be screening Award-Winning Documentary "Occupation 101".
A thought-provoking and powerful documentary film on the current and historical root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Unlike any other film ever produced on the conflict -- 'Occupation 101' presents a comprehensive analysis of the facts and hidden truths surrounding the never ending controversy and dispels many of its long-perceived myths and misconceptions.The film also details life under Israeli military rule, the role of the United States in the conflict, and the major obstacles that stand in the way of a lasting and viable peace.
The roots of the conflict are explained through first-hand on-the-ground experiences from leading Middle East scholars, peace activists, journalists, religious leaders and humanitarian workers whose voices have too often been suppressed in American media outlets.
The film covers a wide range of topics -- which include -- the first wave of Jewish immigration from Europe in the 1880's, the 1920 tensions, the 1948 war, the 1967 war, the first Intifada of 1987, the Oslo Peace Process, Settlement expansion, the role of the United States Government, the second Intifada of 2000, the separation barrier and the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, as well as many heart wrenching testimonials from victims of this tragedy.

The First Kuwaiti Short Film Festival......!!!
Kuwait Cinema Club and Kuwait National Cinema Company (Cinescape) are showing on Saturday June 30th and on Sunday July 1st at the Sha'ab cinema the first Kuwaiti Amature short film festival, where the films of 27 Kuwaiti filmmakers will be screened on cinema alSha'ab theatre.....!!!
26 films minus two victimized films will be shown through out the nights of Saturday (16-1) and Sunday (10-1), only two where banned by the "alAmr bilMa3roof walnahi 3an elMunkar", the Miqdad Al-Qut's "the Beautiful mind of Khalid" "جمال عقل خالد", and Faisal Al-Ibrahim's "Carma" "كارما" were labelled as "one is full of profanity, the other being extrinsic to Kuwaiti culture......!!! and why because a guy brings a girl to his home.......!!! alone.....!!!
"3arayes", "The Joker's Revenge", "Kuwaituna", and "Flight Night" will be
screened among them......!!!
